I read this story to my kids last night and they LOVED it! The metaphor is deep enough to be interesting for adults and yet clear enough to be understood by even my three year old. The poetic rhythm make it easy to keep their attention and the illustrations are darling!
You can't set a foot wrong teaching your kids about forgiveness, as this book does. I also love the rhyming. It is a wonderful way to read to your kids, and a wonderful message to leave them with at the end of day, as they drift off to sleep.
A beautiful and inspiring story of how forgiveness sets us free. This book is a well written reminder of how to guard our heart against offense and fly high!!! Gorgeously illustrated. I HIGHLY recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book to my 7 and 9 year old kids! The story was moving and left us discussing forgiveness and the beauty and importance of this ,act of grace. My 9 year old son actually remarked, "Mom, I feel like this story softened my heart." Lovely pictures and rhyming tempo kept the kids engaged throughout the book. Beautiful!
What a beautiful story and so expertly written by Aimee Perry (the illustrations are beautiful too!) The story rings true for the children in our lives as well as ourselves as forgiveness tends to wrap us up in a cage of bitterness. I highly recommend this story for everyone!
Read thru the book twice so far and becomes more meaningful and endearing each and every time. Wonderful story with an excellent message!
An absolutely delightful story that my 6 ad 8 year olds were raptly following to see what would happen next. I can imagine using this story in teachable moments in the future when there is a forgiveness issue within my children's relationships--and frankly--I will probably think of it next time I am called to forgive an offense; it's beautiful. The illustrations are adorable.
